Her Voice Her Power Exhibition– Buruburu Tour

A Touring Art Exhibition of Healing, Movement, and Collective Expression

On August 22nd and 23rd, the powerful touring exhibition “Her Voice, Her Power” arrives at KNLS Library, Buruburu, transforming the space into a sanctuary of art, dialogue, performance, and healing.

Curated by Elizabeth Wanjiku, this dynamic group showcase continues its mission of amplifying women’s voices through visual storytelling, embodied performance, and courageous conversations. More than just an exhibition, it is a movement rooted in creative resistance, restoration, and community connection.

A Collective of Bold Artistic Voices

This edition features an inspiring lineup of artists including:

Patricia Githae, Barbara Wanjiku, Ruguru Wanjiru, Freshia Njeri, Shannice Wanjiru, Miko Obanda, Bernadette Nyarandi, Eugene Miera, Mugoiri Gachiani, Valerie Rusina, Amelia Okoro, DADAS Connect, and Tabitha Wanjiku.

Each artist brings a distinct lens—exploring identity, memory, womanhood, resilience, culture, and healing. Through paintings, installations, performance art, and animation, their works speak to both personal and shared experiences.

Together, they create a layered narrative that is intimate yet universal.

Beyond the Canvas: Art in Motion

True to its touring identity, Her Voice, Her Power is not confined to static displays. The experience unfolds through:

  • Visual art exhibitions

  • Expressive dance and performance

  • Immersive animations

  • Panel discussions on healing and empowerment

  • Interactive workshops encouraging community participation

It is a living exhibition—where movement meets meaning and creativity becomes a pathway to emotional restoration.

Art as Healing, Community as Power

Supported by Africalia (Belgique), Amani Peoples Theatre, Kenya National Library Service (KNLS), HöF Gallery, and Wanjiku Creative Spaces, this initiative stands at the intersection of art and social transformation.

At its core, Her Voice, Her Power recognizes that healing is not a solitary journey. It is communal. It is expressive. It is courageous.

In a world where many stories go unheard, this exhibition creates space for women to reclaim narrative power—boldly and unapologetically.

Why You Should Attend

If you believe in the power of art to shift culture, spark dialogue, and nurture healing, this is an experience you cannot afford to miss.

Whether you are an artist, a creative, an activist, a student, or simply someone seeking meaningful connection—this exhibition invites you to witness what happens when voices rise together.
